GAME 63 RECAP

Behind dominant pitching, the Bowling Green Hot Rods stifled the Dash in a 7–2 win. James McGowan kickstarted the offense for Bowling Green with a grand slam in the second inning for a 4–0 lead. Evan Edwards sent a deep fly to right for a two-run homer in the third, extending Bowling Green’s lead to 6–0. On the mound for Bowling Green, Zack Trageton tossed five no-hit innings and struck out three batters. Michael Gigliotti extended the lead to 7–0 with an RBI single in the sixth inning. Winston-Salem avoided the shutout when Alex Destino smashed a two-run homer in the seventh to set the score at 7–2.

Destino was the lone member of the Dash to have a multi-hit game Thursday. The outfielder went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs batted in and a run scored. Destino has a .296 batting average in the month of July with three homers and six runs batted in.
