GAME 2 RECAP
The Dash plated five in the second inning after home runs from Luis Curbelo and Bryce Bush gave the Dash a 5–2 lead. The Dash were unable to hold the lead late, faltering down the stretch in an 8–7 loss to Rome on Wednesday night. The Dash look to pick up their first win of the season in the third game of a six-game series against the Braves.

INSTANT IMPACT
With runners on first and third, Luis Curbelo sent a pitch to the left field lawn for a three-run homer in his first at-bat with the Dash. The third baseman from Carolina, Puerto Rico later lined a double to left-field to plate a run, ending his night 2-for-5 with a homer and four runs driven in. Curbelo currently leads the team in batting average (.400) is tied second in the High-A East league with four RBIs.
WE CAN’T GET THIS GUY OUT
Yolbert Sanchez reached base four times against Rome on Wednesday night, going 3-for-4 with a walk and run scored. The White Sox № 21 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Sanchez is hitting .333 with two runs scored.
GOOSE EGGS
Dash relievers Caleb Freeman and Hansen Butler had impressive season debuts on Wednesday night, each tossing a shutout inning and combining for three strikeouts.
SCORING SPREE
The bats have been hot for the Dash, scoring 12 runs in their first two games. The Dash are second in the league in home runs (3), third in runs batted in (12) and third in on-base percentage (.402).
SMOOTH CRIMINALS
Duke Ellis and Travis Moniot swiped their first stolen bases of the season for the Dash on Wednesday night. Ellis stole seven bases through 17 games in his senior year at the University of Texas in 2020. Moniot stole three in 19 games with Single-A Kannapolis and Winston-Salem in 2019.
YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE JOHAN
Johan Dominguez makes his Dash debut on Thursday night as the starter for Ryan Newman and the Dash. The 6–4 right-hander from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic held a 6–5 record with a 2.98 ERA in 15 starts with Class-A Kannapolis in 2019.
